A soft summer rain begins to fall in the afternoon of a hot day
The walkpath slates slowly fade From gray to black as the drops come down
I go outside to visit the rain to let it soothe me, with no umbrella to come between
The water turns to rivulets on the ground running gently to puddle around
Silvery drops splash down, ripples around each drop that falls
Thistles and blossoms, leaves green and glossy so alive and vibrant in the cloud-filtered sun
The rain sinks into the ground, soaked up The soil around the plants’ quenching cup
The clouds start to part, and The sun appears with a rainbow's shining crest, while here I’m still in the rain’s gentle caress
